Dr. Susanne Kolle is a trained biotechnologist (BSc (Hons) and MSc) and a Eurotox-registered toxicologist. She obtained her PhD in biotechnology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. In 2007, she started her career as a PostDoc at BASF SE, Ludwigshafen, in the Department of Experimental Toxicology and Ecology. She then headed the laboratories for alternative method development (2007-2010), tissue toxicology (2009-2019), and biokinetics and local toxicity (2019-2023). Susanne supervises the field of local toxicity, including eye irritation/corrosion, skin irritation/corrosion, and skin sensitization. Since 2023, she has been the research coordinator for new approach methodologies and the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability at BASF. Susanne has led the implementation of good in vitro method practices at BASF, represents BASF in various associations and collaborations, is a member of scientific expert groups in the field of local toxicity, and has authored numerous publications.
