Bio:  Dr. Fu is a Fellow of Academy of Toxicological Science (ATS) and has been active in the field of toxicology and risk assessment for more than thirty years (>30) in US and China. He graduated from Shanghai First Medical College and practiced in Occupational Medicine after graduation. He received his Master Degree in Pesticide Toxicology in 1982, Ph.D in Toxicology and Health Risk Assessment from Shanghai Medical University in 1987 which was one of the first two individuals received Ph.D. degree in Toxicology in China.  

Dr. Fu is President & CEO of Breakthrough Pharmaceuticals (BRTP) Inc. Prior to founded BRTP, he was a Distinguished Research Fellow of China National Pharmaceutical Industry Research Institute (CSPI), Deputy Director/Vice President of National Shanghai Center for Drug Safety Evaluation & Research (/Shanghai InnoStar Biotech). He had previously worked at SNBL, Medicilon/MPI, WuXi PharmaTech, Bridge Pharmaceuticals, and DuPont Haskell Laboratory.

Dr. Fu is a Standing Committee member of Chinese Society of Toxicology (CST), Adviser of Asian Society of Toxicology (AsiaTox), and Advisor of International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX). He has served as Vice President and Secretary General of CST (2009-2018), the President of AsiaTox (2019-2022), and an Executive Committee member/Board Director of IUTOX (2016-2022).

Abstract: Study Directors are conducting more complex studies in recent years with new modalities and with new methodologies. The outcome of nonclinical studies requires the Study Director to have an in-depth knowledge of the complexity of these drugs and drug products as well as the biological response to the administration of these substances. The experienced lectures will focus on new and developing areas in the field of toxicology. Also, through case studies provide examples of how to evaluate data in determining hazard and assessing risk.
